Mayfair Gearbox exchange, putting our weight behind Pilanesberg’s Counter-Poaching Rhino Unit

The beautiful Pilanesberg Game Reserve, protected National Park is one close the heart of Mayfair Gearbox exchange and we actively support the Park’s Counter Poaching Unit. We support the brave patrollers in their efforts to save the dwindling population of the magnificent Rhino and continue to assist the unit in every way because we are horrified that in just a decade, more than 7,245 African rhinos have been lost to poaching and we are doing our part to help protect this endangered species.

Our recently donated Nissan Hardbody patrol vehicles are exclusively used for rhino protection and both are constantly out on patrol. The Hardbody also works closely with the South African Police Service in the surrounding communities, joining them on road blocks and operations to look for potential poaching related threats. The Toyota Landcruiser and Mazda B2000 4x4 we also service as part of our support initiative. These vehicles are used daily by the ecological services and at night they are used for fence patrol, and are key to the rhino protection program.

We service the Parks Samil 20 and Samil 100, which are used by the unit for rhino protection as a force projector and multiplier. The Samil 100 was fitted with a water tank and is used for fire fighting and for getting water to the unit outposts that are far away from regular bases. Mayfair Gearbox exchange work hand in hand with the Counter Poaching Unit Honorary Officers.
